Yellow Yellow Quilt

Yellow Quilt

I’m so excited to be home and sewing. In my new house! This is the first time I’ve used my machine since we moved here – granted it was two weeks ago, but that’s an exciting milestone. And the sun came out today! Huzzah! The better to finally start quilting on this super simple new quilt.

I’m a bit puzzled about how to fill in all the empty white space. I’m not sure I have the patience to fill it all in with the dense echo quilting. Or if it would look all that good. I’m trying to decide if I want to work in a word or some images or maybe more leaves just in the quilting lines…

How to fill the big gaps between the leaves?

This quilt will be something between a full and a twin size – larger than anything I’ve made in a long while.

WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced

Oh! And it’s Wednesday! The day you are supposed to post your Works in Progress along with other quilters at the super cute Freshly Pieced blog. Go check out all the other fun things that the people who live on the internet are sewing!

Now I am off to go buy a lawn mower for my sweetie. The grass/weeds are about a foot high. We were so excited to have a yard, but I can see there were a few key things we’ve forgotten in the few years since we’ve had a lawn. Namely that you have to mow your lawn, especially when it rains every day for a month in April.

I like your leaves quilt. Not sure I would be able to do the echo quilting all that much either, looks like a lot of tedious work. It looks great so far.

Your quilt and the quilting is wonderful. I like your idea of quilting some leaves and maybe trees in the white space. Dense echo quilting of the whole thing would look great but I think would make the quilt less soft and bendable – depends on what result you are looking for.
