Crafting for a Cause

Most deeds, including good deeds, go unnoticed. But I noticed this morning that a terrible stencil/spraypaint job I did in 2009 is now on the New York Times Movie Review page for “The Last Mountain” an awesome new documentary about the horrific nightmare of mountaintop removal. Ok, I haven’t seen the movie yet, but I’ve heard good reviews.

For some reason, this image/article/film focuses more on Robert Kennedy Jr. than my signage. Hmm.

I wanted to share a picture of my own from this rally, but, embarrassingly, the only pictures I took during this time in my life are of my cats and embroidery. Aah, priorities. Obviously I was too busy thinking about cats to make better signs.

But here is a still from the movie. I’m not in the picture because I’m writing down the license plate numbers of coal trucks that were trying to run people over.

I share this photo with this PSA: If you are good at crafts and know an awesome grassroots cause, you should help them make signs for their next rally, so they look better than this:  This belongs to Dada films
