A Quilt A Day Keeps the Doctor Away!

Back when I was a grad student torturing 18 year olds through 7:30 am freshman writing classes, I would always say, just write a lot, it gets easier. And of course, it’s the same with everything.  Just do it! It will start to make sense.

I’ve been doing tons of hand embroidery, and not thinking about quilts for months. So when I went to make a quilt on Monday, it was really boring. I have been having a hard time getting my mind back into the land of squares and triangles and sometimes even curves that used to come more naturally.

So, I decided my goal for this week was to make a different quilt top each day. The hope is that they are more interesting each day, but still really easy to make. This is my Tuesday quilt. Most of the fabric came from my dear friend Jenny, who cleaned out her fabric stash because she is not a terrible slob like me.  I thought it would be funny to call it “Flowers for Jenny” a la “Flowers for Algernon” because ha ha ha everyone in 7th grade in the United States had to read that book about a genius mouse that (Spoiler Alert!) died.
